Required Materials:
- Mini Pottery Machine
- Clay suitable for air drying
- Bowl of water
- Sculpting tools (included)
- Optional: Towel for hand cleaning
Step-by-Step Instructions:
- Prepare the Clay: Warm up the clay by folding and pressing it repeatedly to increase pliability. Take a small portion and roll it into a smooth ball to begin shaping.
- Center the Clay on the Wheel: Moisten your hands slightly to avoid sticking. Position the clay ball firmly in the wheel's center. Wet your fingers again and start centering by molding the clay into an even cone shape.
- Start the Wheel and Regulate Speed: Switch on the pottery wheel and adjust speed via the control knob. Begin slowly and increase speed incrementally as needed.
- Shape Your Clay: Use your hands and sculpting tools to mold the clay into your desired design. Utilize different tools for cutting, hollowing, and detailing.
- Refine and Detach: Apply water to hands and tools when smoothing. Once happy with your shape, carefully cut your piece from the wheel using a ribbon or needle tool.
- Allow to Dry: Set your creation on a flat surface to dry completely by air. Drying times depend on thickness.
